SAINTONGE, takes its name from a Gaulish tribe, and historians have long referred to the region known as COGNAC as SAINTONGE.The company is located in ILE DE SAINTONGE Island on the Charente River. The main building of the company headquarters was built in1875. As the route of cognac export at that time, it witnessed the rise of cognac trade until today. Saintonge was also a place where the salt merchants of the Charente region used to export their wares before the cognac business took off.
